About

The Tanbaly Petroglyphs are an ancient open-air gallery located about 170 km northwest of Almaty. This UNESCO World Heritage Site contains over 5,000 rock carvings dating back to the Bronze Age. The images depict people, animals, and rituals, offering a unique glimpse into early Central Asian civilization. The site is remote but deeply atmospheric and historically significant.

Opening hours: Monday–Friday, 09:00 – 18:00. Closed on Saturday and Sunday.
Address: Tanbaly Valley, Almaty Region.
