Green Bazaar

Green Bazaar (Kök Bazar) is Almaty’s central public market, set in the old city area around Zhibek Zholy and Zenkov streets. Its covered halls and outdoor rows sell fruit, vegetables, nuts, dried fruit, spices, meat, fish, dairy products and ready snacks, with smaller sections for textiles, household goods and souvenirs.

The bazaar is part of local daily life and a useful place to see Central Asian food culture in one busy setting.
